Update: (Feb 20, 2010)

We are going to go ahead and move this to the scam list. We were going to give it a full week, but it is quite clear now that this site will not be trying to pay any of theirmembers. Especially AlertPay and LibertyReserve members. UpBux paypal was limited, not their LibertyReserve or AlertPay. Which it appears that they are taking the money from those accounts without refunding anyone who invested. Site will now remain on our scam list.

Update : (Feb 18, 2010) -
A portion of the update on the forum was removed. The part where they ask members to open up refunds. The question is...why would they remove that part of the statement?

We highlighted the part that is now removed from their announcement. See the announcement bellow for details and the section that is now missing.

Update: (Feb 17, 2010)

Wow, where do I begin? Looks like UpBux is closing their site for good. Strange how things change in just days. At first they were saying that the site will be able to continue withoutpaypal, and with no problems. Now all the sudden they start singing a different tune:

"Dear Members,

We want to speak the truth to you.

PayPal limited our account, and after 5 days without sleep and many phone calls

We have not received a single answer, no reason for the limitation of our account.

Our team has worked very hard during these 4 months, day and night to bring a confident and happy environment for our members.

And I see that all you have always supported us. Unfortunately now that decision is no longer in our hands.

I did the impossible and what was in my power so that we can follow with UpBux, but despite all of our efforts,
it seems impossible to fight with this great Mafia perhaps one of the largest in America.

They limit our account and about 85% of all our funds were in our PayPal account.

Then it has become became impossible to continue.I ask you to open refunds and we will return all the money to you. PayPal will not keep one penny of our members money. <<---now removed

Have you ever heard of the PayPal Mafia? Each day that passes, this fact is proved.

Some ex-employees and ex-managers of PayPal. See their testimony and draw their own conclusions..."

Personally, I disagree with this so called "Paypal Mafia" perception. Paypal is a ebay company. It is a business that has shown in the past that does not like to deal with ptc sites. They don't like to be apart of sites that have a potential of becoming a fraud. History has shown this over and over again. Nothing new here. So why are these owners insist on using them if they know full and well that eventually that theirpaypal account is going to be reviewed and flagged?

If you pay members who have unverified paypal accounts, or if you have a large flow of cash coming in and out, you are going to have your account reviewed and possibly suspended. PTC sites are not the greatest companies to do business with in the first place. Most are scams andpaypal does not like doing business with them.

I suggest those owners out there that claim Paypal is the one at fault to stop using them . They can use Alertpay, but then again, I have seen reports of site owners having their alertpay account frozen too.

This placing the blame elsewhere has to stop. Owners need to start taking accountability when they open these sites. The saying "don't' put all your eggs into one basket" comes to mind. It takes money to run these sites. Have back up funding in your alertpay or your bank account. So when this happens, you will be ready.

With that said, I have been paid by this site, it is disappointing to see this site go down. Will give it a week and see if anything new shows up or if they have a solution to their financial problems.

Update: (Feb 16, 2010)

Many of you probably already know that UpBux had their papal limited. The owner has left a update on the forum stating they are still waiting for paypal to answer them. Although paypal is taking some time to resolve, they will be opening cashouts on Thursday (Feb 18th). AlertPay and Liberty Reserve will be available. Also Neteller will possibly be added as a option to cash out. For more details:

Full Review / Site History (Oct 7, 2009)

Here are the pros & Cons of UpBux:

PROS

1. Forum - They do have a forum. A excellent way to stay up to date and to communicate with staff and other members. You can find their forum here:

http://www.upbux.com/forum/

http://twitter.com/upbux

2. Paying - (no longer paying) The reason why we are moving them from the pending list to the legit list. Payments have begone and you can find payment proofs on their forum. To see proofs go here:

UpBux Payment proof from the forum:
http://www.upbux.com/forum/main_forum.php?cat=5

3. Direct Referral Limit - Could it be? A site that actually gives you some breathing room and the ability to gain free referrals on your own? Looks that way. According to their upgrade table:

CONS:

1. New Site - We can't ignore that this site was created on Sept 15, 2009.

2. BuxWiz, Anyone? - I see someone noticed too...however, BuxWiz was a PTCPay site. Meaning that is where they got their "look" from. I am sure UpBux has done the same.
See screen shot, and you will see at the bottom there is a link showing on PTC Pay's front page for the sites that are currently using their script. You will see BuxWiz. Too bad they don't know buxwiz went scam.

We were also told from a reliable source that the owner of UpBux is from Portugal. If you remember, the owner of BuxWiz was from India. Two different people. Hopefully this will lay to rest these suspicions.

Some Things You Should Know...
  • The minimum amount paid is $2.00 on the first cashout. Thereafter, this amount will increase after each cashout until it reaches a fixed minimum amount of $10.00.
  • You must have at least 80 clicks to cashout.
  • Your referral earnings depends on your daily clicks. You need to do at least 2 ads a day being a Standard/Pioneer member and 4 ads a day being an upgraded member, in order to receive your referral clicks the next day.
Summary:

Looks nice, and they even have games that you can gable with your earnings. Finally a site with a theme that matches what ptc's are. High risks, and a gamble. Be smart don't invest more than what you can afford to lose and make sure you get paid first before you make a decision to buy or purchase upgrade. We will continue to monitor and test this site. Stay tuned for updates...

If anyone would like to share their experience that they had with this site, whether it is good or bad, feel free to do so in our comment section at the end of this review.
